I've only ridden the bike around a couple blocks in the city so far. When I pick it up Wednesday evening I'll have 20+ interstate miles to get it home.
The main thing I want is to make sure that I've still got enough reserve power to roll in at highway speeds for passing without feeling like it's straining. At city speeds, the thing seemed satisfyingly peppy. And it really wasn't uncomfortable, but I could imagine hour-plus rides getting a little cramped.
My main recreational riding will be in the mountains nearby; the rest of my riding will be scooting around town, to and from work, etc. I don't plan on *too* much interstate riding-- mostly two-lane country roads when in "fun" mode.
The bike comes with a factory service manual, and I used to putz around with my 750 Virago back in the 80's and never knackered anything, so I can probably handle any simple mods or tweaks that I want to do.
Cheers, and happy Fourth!
